Abstract: UK: Окреслено сучасну мовну ситуацію в Україні, подано огляд результатів лінгвістичних та соціологічних досліджень проблеми.
EN: Problem definition. Language is one of the important factors of consolidation and development of the nation. Problems concerned language issue are relevant to many countries at the beginning of the XXI century. Analysis of publishings. A lot of scientific researches deal with the analysis of the different features of language situation. These problems are analysed by O. Potebnya, Yu. Pradid, L. Masenko, O. Ponomaryov, G. Yevseeva, T. Panko, A. Pogribniy, I. Lopushynskiy etc. The aim of the article is the survey of the up to date researches of the current language situation in Ukraine. Conclusion. In modern globalized polyethnic society the concernment of scientists, statesmen and citizens on the language problems is the basement for the stability in the society and for the stable social and cultural development of the modern ethnic societies.
